Types and Introduction of Dock Levelers

Latest company news about Types and Introduction of Dock Levelers

Dock levelers are one of the most frequently used loading and unloading devices in logistics channels. They serve as the starting and ending points of the logistics process in factories. Designed as a bridge, dock levelers connect the gap between the loading platform and the rear of trucks during loading and unloading operations. Different working environments require different types of dock levelers. A typical dock leveler consists of three main parts: the base, the lip, and the power system.

Dock levelers are categorized into fixed dock levelers and mobile dock levelers. Their primary function is to bridge the gap between the loading platform and transport vehicles, allowing forklifts to move smoothly for efficient loading and unloading.

Mobile Dock Levelers:

Mobile dock levelers are widely used in loading platforms and mobile loading sites without built-in loading equipment. They serve as auxiliary equipment for forklifts, enabling forklifts to drive directly into truck compartments for bulk loading and unloading. The biggest advantage of mobile dock levelers is their ease of movement and adaptability to various locations. However, they are not suitable for confined spaces.

Fixed Dock Levelers:

Fixed dock levelers are specialized auxiliary equipment for fast loading and unloading. Their height adjustment function creates a bridge between the truck and the warehouse loading platform, allowing forklifts and other transport vehicles to enter the truck directly for bulk loading and unloading. Fixed dock levelers are ideal for smaller spaces where mobility is not required.
